Kilimanjaro Snack House & Catering is a spot that brings together flavors from East Africa, India, and Pakistan right in the heart of Vancouver’s Kingsway neighborhood. The restaurant leans into a casual, comforting vibe where the focus is firmly on authentic, homemade-style dishes rather than trendy dining aesthetics. It’s a place that feels welcoming and unpretentious—where locals and newcomers alike can expect to be treated like family, whether grabbing a quick bite or ordering a spread for a gathering.

The menu reflects a rich fusion of culinary traditions, featuring hearty curry dishes such as chicken and beef curries served with rice or roti, alongside snacks like samosas, shami kebabs, and vegetable pakoras. One of the more distinctive aspects is the presence of East African specialties like Kuku Paka and Zanzibari Mix, which add unique depth to the food choices and offer something different from typical South Asian fare. This makes it well-suited not just for people familiar with these cuisines, but also for those curious to try flavors beyond the usual offerings in Vancouver.

Visitors typically encounter a friendly and down-to-earth environment where the staff are known to be warm and helpful, guiding diners through the menu and often recommending smaller bites or teas for a quick, satisfying stop. The setting works well for lunch or early dinner, especially for those looking for homestyle comfort food amid a modest and cozy space. It’s also popular with groups and families who appreciate the generous portions and variety, although large orders may require a bit of extra patience as the kitchen catches up.

Beyond dine-in, Kilimanjaro’s catering options signal a strong local reputation for events and communal meals, where the diverse flavors can shine and please varied palates. Whether you’re new to East African or South Asian dishes or someone who enjoys the genuine, layered tastes of these cultures, Kilimanjaro Snack House offers a practical and heartfelt experience rooted in honest cooking and neighborhood hospitality.

I had a very pleasant small taste of the quality and flavour of the food. I was a bit in a rush and the person of the restaurant recommended to try the sweet samosas with a tea. My taste buds are still in heaven! I’ll definitely come back for a full meal!

If you want home made, high quality food in a cozy environment or to take home then you should try this place! I’m so glad I’ve discovered this place. I was so impressed with the food! Tons of variety of foods and flavours are unbelievable! I’ve been to many African and Indian restaurants, but none of them taste is good as this one! If you’re planning to have a party and want to impress your friends, then I suggest you do catering from this place! These dishes and flavours are so worth to try! Now this is my favourite place!

The food was hot and tasty Lots of flavor. The server was very kind and friendly. The only thing was we asked to make food for 7 big guys. We got duped into buying food for 15 big guys double of what we needed. The food was supposed to he ready for 1130 and it was 20 mins late.
